We drove by Allegany State Park in mid-October. Yes, that's how it's spelled.
We arrived late, just before sunset, beneath a carpet of rainblob which had stretched from Ohio into New York. So we didn't have time for much of a hike. But we climbed the hill into the mist as raindrops splattered on the leaves around us. Then, as the sky darkened, we walked down to the lake.
The air gathered in falling folds, everywhere.
We saw no bears. You will have to ask the bears whether they saw us.
